Registering an Opportunity

Background: This page provides insight into registering an opportunity on our Integrated Quotation Management and Automated Provisioning (IQMAP) tool.  You can use opportunities to track your progress of your sales cycle for use on the CloudConnect platform.

Process: To register an opportunity, begin from the 'Opportunity' dashboard. Click the 'New Opportunity' tile.


At this point, you will be presented with a form requesting various information about the opportunity.


Name: Anything that allows you to easily identify this opportunity. For smaller opportunities, this could be the name of the organization (e.g. 'Acme Co.'), for larger opportunities where perhaps only a portion of the organization is looking to migrate to the cloud, it may be more apt to name it after the relevant department or subset of the organization (e.g. 'Acme Co. Accounting').

Account: If an Account for this organization has already been created, select it from the drop-down menu. If not, select 'Create New Account' to be brought to the New Account form upon clicking 'Next.' For more information on this object, see: Accounts.

Profit Policy: If a Profit Policy already exists which is appropriate for this opportunity, select it from the drop-down menu. If not, select 'Create New Profit Policy' to be brought to the New Profit Policy tool upon clicking 'Next.' For more information on this object, see: Profit Policies.

Blueprint: If a Blueprint for this organization has already been created, select it from the drop-down menu. If not, select 'Create New Blueprint' to be brought to the New Blueprint tool upon clicking 'Next.' For more information on this object, see: Blueprints.

Stage: The stage of an opportunity allows you to mark where it currently resides in the sales process. Select an appropriate value from the drop-down menu.

Close Date: Your ideal target closing date for this opportunity.

Description (optional): Any additional notes or further information regarding the opportunity.


If a new Account, Profit Policy, or Blueprint is to be created, click 'Next' through all dialogues until returning to the initial Opportunity Details form.


Once all information has been successfully populated, click 'Save.'


Your opportunity will now appear alongside others in the Opportunity Dashboard.
